Best way to send a gift quickly to Australia?

Hi,

A friend in Australia recently had some bad news, and I'm planning on sending a small gift to show I'm thinking of her. I could do this via the post office, but I recently had surgery so this would be slightly tricky.

Does anyone know of any companies in Australia that would be good to use and are not too expensive? E.g., flower delivery or hamper delivery

Everywhere I look, the prices are crazy!

I would just Google a florist etc in their hometown and pay online. I’ve done that many times

Should also add that cut flowers are much more expensive in Oz than here.

No quick way of getting anything from here to there, with their crap post and our strikes (but awful before our strikes)

Try Gangemis fine wine and food (Perth), David Jones or Myer (Sydney Melbourne Brisbane) or a local florist (yellow pages.com.au but you will possibly have to ring them and sometimes they don't like an international credit card!)

My uncle lives in Canada. When he had a new baby I ordered clothes from GAP (went on to the Canadian version of the website). I then got a call from someone that works for GAP because the payment hadn’t completely gone through but we sorted it out quickly and it was all dispatched.

Maybe try a website/company thats famous in Australia? Unfortunately no family in Australia to make suggestions …

I am in Aus. Where abouts is your friend based? Flowers are crazy expensive here!

I've used these guys too - I think it goes from a Sydney warehouse

Amazon Australia? I sent some chocolates recently to someone in Sydney (Lindt Prestige) and not that expensive to send

I've sent flowers to a friend in Aus using a local florist (to her!) and I've also sent a voucher for her local spa/retreat centre. I emailed the spa, explained where I was and she was and they arranged a gift voucher and sent me a payment slip via their website. Very helpful and my friend loved it! If you find something local to where she lives just contact them and see what they can do to help. I've found the Aus customer service amazing!

I used Amazon Australia.

Another for amazon.au

InterHampers Australia. We have family that live in Oz and bought things for Christmas and Birthdays for them. Always been very good.

I also googled the closest florist. If you want it to be quick you need to order something in that country. Post from Europe can take weeks to arrive.

I've used alittleluxury.com.au/
before to send a hamper.

It had good quality products, was well packaged in a wooden box that could be reused, and you can alter the contents as well.

I also sent flowers using Floraly, but they were very expensive for what arrived, and didnt look good.

Hello Showslope,

For flower and gift hampers my go-to website is https://www.lvly.com.au/collections/brisbane-metro. They really have good collections. Probably you can check them out

Also, if you wanted something more helpful if they are having a hard time, Dinner Ladies provide nice homemade frozen meals in Sydney. I've ordered this a lot for work colleagues who are having a tough time or are sick.
