I am looking at booking a camping holiday for me and 2 kids.

Last year we went to Seaview Holiday Park in Kent and it was brilliant. The kids loved the facilities on the park and we were close enough to go out for the day without all our time being taken up by driving.

I was looking at going further afield this year (based in Essex), found some nice places in Cornwall/Devon but the near 6 hour drive is off-putting (not for me, but the kids being in the car for that time).

I also want it to be camping. I did find Camber Sands near Brighton, but they don't have a campsite there, would be caravan only.

Anyone know of a really nice place preferably on the South Coast, would say 3-4 hours max from Essex, so maybe Dorset being the furthest, that has camping facilities?

Thanks

Would you consider France as you're already in the southeast? Going via ferry from Dover, you'd do 1.5 hours in the car, but then have a 1.5 hour break from it whilst onboard.

This superb parc is around a 3 hour drive from Calais. French motorways are lovely to drive on. 3 hours on one doesn't feel anything like 3 hours on a British one.

We book via Eurocamp, but you can camp there too, and you book with them directly. There are lots of caravans, but they also have loads of camping pitches.

Eurocamp link because it showcases the parc well.
