I’d really appreciate some advice on interview prep for a management accountant position in an acute trust. Any specific areas I should be researching?

Learn the 'trust values' just in case!

More importantly they will also have a list of questions that they will ask and you'll have to score highest of the applicants on each question- it's out of five for each question here. Safeguarding is frequently one of them. They do a score for each question, then add them up and the person with the highest gets the job.

It's nuts because it doesn't give room for the feel of the person, their character, how they'd fit in with the team.

If you know anyone on the team at present see what they were asked- they rarely change the questions.

They'll probably be around the job description somehow.

Deffo trust values. Classic interview question is:
"out of the trust values - which one is most important to you, and why?"

I've interviewed a few jobs recently. My questions are always geared towards improving services but others often bring up the old chestnuts of how to manage conflict, leaderships, managing stresses.

Senior NHS here, research trust values but also research the job and more importantly the sector of the NHS you're working for and the challenges that sector faces.

They do love a "how do you cope under pressure" style question so prepare a solid answer for that. There is also likely to be a question that demonstrates how you problem solve creatively.
