Really sucky Valentine's Day. Huge fight last night with DP and now tested positive for covid. Great 👍

Hi,

So DP and I had a really big row last night and so feeling very unromantic today. Some flowers have just arrived, but DP clearly didn't want to give them to me and just left them on the side. I said thank you obviously, but it all just feels so awkward.

I have a card ready, but it just doesn't feel right to give it to them. I keep telling myself it's just a day and not to feel pressured because it's Valentines day, but it does feel really shitty. Had lots of things planned for later, but just doesn't feel right to do them now, plus I've just tested positive for covid after coughing all night and generally feeling rubbish 🙄

Think we should just right this one off, don't you?

It's just a Tuesday 🙂 so don't worry in that regard. Sorry you're not well though 😩
Why don't you have a chat with your DP and try and sort things out?

Wellthissucks23 · 14/02/2023 12:09

@Kate8990 this is true. Not sure I should bother with the card now. All those "you're wonderful, you're my light, the most amazing partner...." sentiments don't really feel right when you've told each to fuck off and called each other an arse hole(amongst other things), only a few hours a go 😬

They're busy working. We're both still upset with each other. Doesn't feel like a make up moment.

@Wellthissucks23 Maybe let the dust settle a bit first then. Things will be fine I'm sure. Just try and rest for now and get better ❤️

Laugh about it and move the hell on. Unless you're seriously contemplating ending the relationship, just forget about it. You probably both have covid and feeling irritated for a few days.

Its not worth holding a grudge. And I say that as a high octane, insecure argue merchant of the highest order. You'll both just feel shit if it carries on and let's face it someone has to give in. Send him a stupid text with lovey photo of you both and say sorry.

Its just not that important, unless as I said there have been game changing behaviours. At least you might get a cuppa brought to you..... Happy Valentines.

@wellthissucks23 are you called Camilla?
today is just one of the 365 days of the year…valentines is purely a commercial exercise. Best thing to do is wait til tomorrow & buy yourself a big box of reduced chocolates & enjoy every day, ignore this commercial shit!

Well, the Lord alone knows why you are still Covid testing, so from that point of view I begin to lose any sympathy.

Some of us are in jobs that require you to stay off if positive for covid.

What's wrong with covid testing?

Perhaps if the person who passed Covid on to my stepdad, causing his Kidneys to fail .. while he was ALREADY in hospital getting over pneumonia.. had bothered to think about others .. then he would be at home with us all now instead of enduring his 6th week on Guys kidney unit 300 miles away from his family.

Political duplicity is not a cure for a virus that kills people .

She's testing so that she knows whether or not it's covid.

And then she can act accordingly.

I absolutely hate this attitude of "why are people still testing". My 42yo brother landed in intensive care on a ventilator despite having had all jabs. Last time I got covid, it took me 8 weeks to get better. Zero risk factors, 44yo, fully jabbed. "Mild" variant.

Lucky for you if you are one of the people that covid barely affects. But remember that not all of us are so lucky.
