Really silly question....has my Dr mini tattooed me?

I really don't mind, as I'd rather have a mark than a baby 🤣, just curious if this is what's happened....
I had my contraceptive implant replaced almost 3 months ago. They had to mark the area with a black pen, and then inserted the new one with a gun through it.
Since then, I've had this mark on my arm. It's the same color as the pen and is under the skin. It obviously won't come off....

Crappy pic below as it's quite hard to take a photo of your own arm...🤣

It looks raised and bruised probably due to your implant rather than pen mark.

LoudestRoar · 14/02/2023 10:10

Would it still be bruised 3 months later though?

I think its more likely to be scar tissue. My partner dropped something on his leg that broke the skin a few years ago and he has marks that look like that all over it because it's healed so badly.

Maybe you have got a foreign object in your arm so it could be. Is it itchy or sore?

Ceryneianhind · 14/02/2023 10:13

well technically if the ink has gone through to a lower level of skin, then yeah, it could be

LoudestRoar · 14/02/2023 10:14

Scar tissue could be the answer...
It doesn't hurt or anything...it's just there!

Almost certainly scar tissue - I'm on my 3rd implant now and have several of these marks, the first of which is now nearly 7 years old!
