I feel worthless

Please be patient with me and keep reading.

My mum needs a new boiler for her home, this home is shared with my SIL, niece, 2 brothers and sister.

Yesterday as a joke my older sister said l would pay for it. My mum then said that we ( herself) are struggling with money and that we want a share of the property we need to contribute to it.

This is despite not living there for 5 yrs past marriage . And the same goes for my other sisters who moved out after getting married.

My mum has no intention of giving a share which in our religion ( Islam) we are rightfully allowed to have in any money, property and anything else.

She is giving everything to my two brothers. We the daughters have contributed as much as we can and not just financially.

I don't know why l am writing this. I am currently pregnant.

I feel worthless. I cant even get my head around why my mum is so set in excluding us. But more than that l know that we as the daughters have little value to her as her children .

I think l just need some advice on how to face this.

Thanks for reading

I do found this hard to follow, not being mean but it's badly written so can't work out what's going on. I think you contributed to the upkeep expending a share and won't get it now. Fuck them; do you need the money? You have your own life and house. Step away from expecting inheritance as your controlling mother has made clear you're not a priority. Sorry as that's a horrible feeling but forget the money!

Don't contribute anything, and get yourself to counselling to address your feelings of worthlessness. Once you manage to unpick your feelings and get a clear idea of how you'd like to be treated, you can then build the confidence to set boundaries and not let these feelings overwhelm you.

Agree with counselling for you, it really does help. As for the boiler, sounds like there are four adults living in that house. Unless you and your sister are crazily rich (and even if you are), I cannot see why you should pay. One boiler between four shouldn't break the bank.
