80s toy I can’t remember name of

I don’t know why I’m obsessing about this but the fact I can’t find it mentioned anywhere and I remember it, is driving me mad.

I think it doesn’t help that I don’t have all the right words to describe on google.

Here goes!

It was something glow in the dark. At the time I didn’t have a glow friend and I think these were cheaper.

I think it was somehow related to glow worm or glow friends and had a picture printed on it just in black so the picture would silhouette with the glow in the dark. It was a variety thing so you could collect others with different prints on. I don’t know if it was a blind pack or you chose the picture. I had 2 but I don’t remember the pictures.

The object was like a fat baby bel cheese (I know 😆) that glowed in dark and it had a weight of some kind inside that would wobble when you held it or shook it around.

Did anyone else have these or am I going insane?

Id estimate around 1983 - 1986 as we moved in 86 and I had them at our old house.

Glow worm. You had to press its body to make it glow.

Oh I loved these - I'm sure there was one of those caterpillars in every home that contained dc. Very nostalgic. What were they called?

Not a clue… my memory was shot to pot after the birth of my second child but yeah I am following with interest.

Someone will remember op, I am sure

Namechange44000 · 14/02/2023 08:35

My memory has been jogged by the photos of the glow in dark wiggly gigglys. It’s definitely those 😃

Yay, well done Ponder ☝🏼

Ponderoveryonder · 14/02/2023 08:47

The ultimate was that you could roll it from your wrist along to your shoulder around the back of your neck and down to your other wrist 🤣. I think there was a tv advert .
I tried SO HARD for years to master that trick, unsuccessfully

Yes and with another picture on the back. Think I had a ghost and something like Dracula on mine. I remember dropping it on my face when I’d play with it in bed at night. I’m so glad I know what it was and I wasn’t imagining it 😆 Also it really does look a bit like a babybell doesn’t it 🙂
