Taking out the bins - should DH empty all the house bins too?

DH generally always takes out the bins on bin day. He never empties the bins in the house before he does so. Well, he might do the kitchen ones. Neither do I , I just empty the bins as I think of it. When I was growing up the bins were all emptied before bin day.
This is not even a conversation between DH and I , I couldn't care less. Just wondering if everyone else has a rubbish free house come bin day?!

This is all delegated / outsourced to fabulous cleaner, DH gas increasing mobility problems so can't really help much. Cleaner arranges her hours around having the bins out and leaving the dish washer empty

Small hut very predacious luxuries given DH's restrictions.

Dc do the bins here. All bins around the house are emptied into big kitchen bin and then bag gets taken out. Kitchen food waste and recycling are all done then too.
One evening a week we are rubbish free!

Majority of my bathroom bins is either plastic or paper, I don't mind sifting through but everyone else gets the boak.....

When 20 something DS was still living at home he did them each week-day before bin day he emptied all household bins and put bins out. DH does it now.

Our rubbish is fortnightly but recycling and food waste is weekly. I just keep a small caddy on counter for food waste and empty frequently.

I am on a mission to see that every scrap of recycling makes it out to the collection-I have no idea why but am still running things out in the morning-empty blueberry punnet from breakfast etc.
I have no idea why I care so much...

DISCLAIMER - LIGHTHEARTED

Bins are DH's job. We've had arguments over the bin...

The bins used to be near enough to the back door that I could open the door, walk ten feet and chuck in the bin bags and job done. DH insisted on moving said bins so they weren't being pulled past his precious car on bin day. This is fine I say, providing he now takes responsibility for said bins because where he's moved them to is a trek and I have a few mobility problems.

This is the game we played for some time...😂

I make sure that all rubbish and recycling goes out on the correct day particularly food
Waste. Recycling and food waste collected weekly and wheelie bin three-weekly.

Looneytune253 · 14/02/2023 17:04

Oh no, we don't. They do get emptied regularly but just when they're full tbh. Doesn't bother us. Bin is usually heaving by bin day so we usually have to wait for it to be emptied before changing the bin bag over on the last day

Of course he should, just makes sense to me.

I haven't put my recycling bin out since before Christmas. I can't be bothered if it's not full. The cardboard and paper box goes out every fortnight as that's just under the stairs.

bingoitsadingo · 15/02/2023 10:52

I just empty bins when they're full! Never occurred to me to go round emptying half full bins, seems like an unnecessary chore to me.

Ah @CoffeeTaster -I was amazed until I read that your cardboard and paper are done separately-ours is one big blue bin with everything-glass/paper/plastic/cardboard etc
with rubbish and food waste separately.

It seems like all the councils do it differently-seems there might be a 'best collection practice" for everyone?

All bins are emptied on bin day in my house.

I don't think it makes sense to have the rubbish collected on bin day but the bins in the house to still have rubbish in them. Confused It's going to be another 2 weeks before that rubbish will be going anwhere.
