What is causing it?

BevMarsh · 13/02/2023 19:14

Read Paul David 'At Last a Life'.
I credit it with helping me massively with my horrific anxiety.

I've just started a new job ( which I'm not enjoying) it's a job in a field that's new to me and I'm trying my best to keep it together during the day, I've cried so many times over it but I can't leave because I need the money. I feel like im being walked off a plank without a backup plan. I feel the job is too much for me and I just feel sick at the thought of being there every day 8:30-5

I’ve been in a similar situation to you with the new job. I did a few things, I’m now over 6 months in and while I don’t love it it’s not giving me major anxiety anymore.

I did a CBT course through NHS and one of the main things that helped was creating ‘worry time’ each day - 20 mins to write down my worries.

I also gave myself date deadlines, I.e. give it 3 months then decide whether to get another role. That helped me get through it.

You could also start job hunting to take back some control

@Blackandwhitehorse I'll try and see if those things help. I really coukd cry at the thought of being there for 3 months I just hate how I am feeling. I see no one at out and it makes me side

I reflect on what I can change, and what I can’t change. I write a to-do list with steps to move forward. Take back control.

Is there anyone you can talk to at work?
