Really weird pain and muscle weakness in my arms, worried

It’s like there’s no strength in my arms
I can’t carry anything heavy for long
and my arms ache and hurt
oddly it’s both arms
been like this for 5 plus months

legs and rest of body doesn’t ache or feel heavy or experiencing muscle weakness

also got bad dry eye disease

and not been sleeping well

any ideas

Possibly fibromyalgia?

Came on aftercovid??I've had this straight after covid, it's quite common it seems

Have you had your thyroid function tested? My sister has Hashimoto's disease and her main symptom was pain and weakness in her arms. She couldn't brush her hair as she couldn't lift her arms up for long enough. She was back and forth to her doctors and was tested for all kinds of neurological problems but nothing was found, then she saw a locum GP who suggested it could be a thyroid problem. It turned out that her thyroid function was incredibly low but nobody had previously considered it because she is very thin!
Might not be the same thing of course but worth a check maybe?

Yeah my thyroid was checked in nov and was normal then

No last time I had covid was Xmas 2021

Both my husband and I had this for months after Covid . We called it Covid arms . Sometimes in our fingers too .

I could have written this myself last year OP (apart from the dry eyes).

I had my bloods done and it turned out to be a very underactive thyroid.

After a few months of taking Levothyroxine, I was right as rain although I'll have to take them for life.

Are you on statins by any chance? I got muscle weakness when I started taking these. Doctor advised me to stop taking them

@florrierainbow I get this from statins. I've been on them for 3 months but have reduced now to taking 3 times a week - im getting my cholesterol checked in a couple of months and if it's remained stable im stopping as they give me pins and needles and very weak arms and legs!

I have exactly the same symptoms, after a lot of visit to the GP/acupuncture turned out I had a disc bulge in my neck, the pain I had was neuropathic pain.

@Poppedmytyreffs did they find this from an MRI?? The osteopath thinks I have this too and asked my GP for a referral , but can I as heck get the GP to book me an MRI!!

Yes had an MRI @Crikeyalmighty took 2 bloody years to get it though! They were reluctant, keep pushing for it

I also had loads of osteopathy. Until they said they felt they had gone as far as they can @Crikeyalmighty so know I survive on pain killers & meds for neuropathy pain 🙄
