chicken pie

need a really quick answer .. making my first chicken pie . do i need to grease the bottom of the dish before i put the pastry in ?

Nope makes zero difference, it'll still be stuck to the base... personally, unless you like pastry, i just put the pastry on the top.

Use butter - it will help the pastry crisp up underneath - put on an already hot baking tray.
