Carolina Dress Room sizing help please

I'm so confused by Carolina Dress Room. I'm on a couple of selling groups where people mention them a lot but the website itself seems very sparse. There's no size chart or fabric information or anything. How can a dress be a size 8-14? How long are the dresses in inches? Is the decorative bow removable? What is the fabric, is it polyester or viscose or what? I quite like the look of their dresses but I'm so confused by the lack of sizing information, yet some people seem to be really obsessed with them. Have I missed something?

So the material is very stretchy and soft. Like the material leggings are made from. I'm a size 16 but I like the Size 1 (8-14) as the size 2 is just a bit too big. You have to try them as different styles fit slightly differently.
The bows are a separate belt. I bought cheaper but exactly the same belt off e-bay. The dresses are lovely. I've bought a few new and lots off Vinted. The Facebook page Carolina dress room official is a good place to ask questions 😊

But what fabric is it? I liked the look of Popsy dresses until I realised they were all made of polyester.

What's the length of the Peggy dress?

Yes its a polyester/spandex mix. I don't have a peggy dress as don't like the neckline but the tes dress which looks similar is 25 inches from waist. On me comes below knee and I'm 5'10. The swing design is shorter.

I'd also like to try this brand, but am completely confused by the sizing and lack of information/size guides anywhere.

I'm a size 20/22, does anyone know which size would be the best bet? I feel like I'm annoyingly in the middle and may risk ending up with a dress that's either too big and baggy, or too clingy, which I really don't want.

Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

I find the Peggy's come up a bit big..im size 20 but go for a size 2...tes dress fits a bit smaller so go for a size 3. Look on ebay for a bargain..but they're so comfy and have lovely patterns

DD is a 10/12 and has a beautiful Haunted Mansion Dress from CDR which fits me well too at 14/16.
I keep meaning to ask her what size it is so I can buy my own.

Thank you both, I'm stalking some on eBay/Vinted to try when I find the right print.

I have an entire collection of Carolina dress rooms items. I literally live in it😮
My best advice would be to size down. I'm 16/18 and wear a 8/14 in most things. The material is super stretchy, soft and comfortable to wear. I often wear the dresses with leggings aswell as tights, sometimes with a belt or a petticoat if I want to dress it up abit. The prints can be abit out there but they offer both pretty and gothic prints, depending upon what you like.
Also check out Miss society Sleaford because that's Thier discount page.

Thanks LisaNic, that's really helpful and a great tip about the discount page!

Yes, a lot of the prints are a bit too far out for me, but every so often some slightly tamer ones pop up, it seems!

IncyWincyGrownUp · 20/05/2023 02:01

The material is not great quality, to be honest. It fades a fair bit after a while. The build quality isn’t the best either, the edgings are not finished to a high standard, there are often loose threads and wonky bits, and I’ve had to close a couple of seams before.

However, if you want a quirky print as a fat woman, they’re one of the few places that sell them. I prefer the Peggy dresses as I dislike where the tea dress sleeves end on my arms. I only buy when they’re reduced now, as I think they’re overpriced when newly stocked.

Thanks, I got one on Vinted. I went for a Dolly dress as I don't do sleeveless. I got the size 22-30 and I like the fit. It is a little baggy in places, but I'd rather that than be tight!

I still don't get all the hype really, but it is so hard to find more classically-shaped dresses with sleeves in plus sizes, so I'll keep looking out for second hand ones in tamer prints.
