Kindle Fire 10HD - 32 or 64GB?

We'll be using it for long journeys, so will want a few films downloaded, and also a few games/apps, definitely incl Minecraft. Is the 32GB adequate or is it worth the extra £30 for 64GB?

Hi, check to see if it has an SD card slot - I haven't used my kindle for over a year but I think it held up 64Gg extra.
I used to download a couple of films, music and books on that before I used to travel.
Games are a bit more difficult - firstly check that the games are available on Amazon as they have a habit of dragging their feet over new popular games and release their own version as so you spend money on Amazon first - there was a right bun fight several years ago over Hay Day!
Also if you are playing a large simulation game you will need the extra space as there is a bit of a well known problem with games (the Simpsons tapped out) will stop working when they get to big.
Finally, unless you are prepared to keep your Amazon membership you will end up loosing any and all access to media brought in the Amazon stores. When I first got my kindle I asked everyone to buy me gift cards and over the years I purchased over £1000 of films, TV shows, books, games and music but have now lost it all due to not wanting to pay several different subscription fees from them separating each platform.
Having warned you about all of that, what I will say is that the Kindle is very robust and easy to use and a great source of entertainment when going away. I still take mine away with me and just load the SD card on my laptop before popping it in my Kindle.
I feel that this might put you off buying one all together but they do have good password/parental controls (just remember to turn them on straight away) and you won't get any nasty shocks.

If you consider all of the above and can load the SD card separately then I would use the £30 to buy a good quality SD card, case and an extra charger lead.
Also keep an eye out for free trails on Amazon prime and try to use them when going away
Good luck.

So helpful, @Dobbyatemysocks , thank you!! That's a good point re not actually owning the content forever. Game-wise I think it'll be 90% Minecraft use, plus some point and click puzzle-solving games if poss, but of course it could all be very different in a year's time - tastes/obsessions change fairly quickly round here...it's just hard to justify any other tablet, really, when the Kindle Fire is so cheap and you can tell yourself it's mainly for reading 😂

@Laquila Phew! I thought I might have put you completely off purchasing one.
Do you know someone that has a Kindle? Get them to go on the games section and read the requirements for Minecraft but I think as long as you keep Minecraft on the device and movies, music, books on the SD card - you should be fine.
I forgot to mention as well that if you have a favourite author find them on Facebook, Twitter etc as when they bring out a new book they will either sell their previous one for 99p or even free!
James Patterson did a couple of books with Bill Clinton and I got both for £1.98!! I did go on to buy both in print as I love James Patterson. But you can get kids books, cookery books and travel guides - oh and make sure you turn off Alexa - she fun to begin with but boy is she sensitive 🤣🤣
