Passport panic

I’ve just applied for my children’s first passports but I can’t find my birth certificate anywhere! I’ve applied for a new one but we are going away in April. Please tell me it will be okay!!!

You can't change what has or had not happened. You might be you might not be. I think the passports are being lost quick at the moment.

My passport returned within 10 days of application, arrived on Thursday just gone.

That’s good to know! The birth certificate says 15 working days which is what is worrying me!

I had to re order a birth certificate it came within a week so fingers crossed for yours.

Why do you need your birth certificate?

You need your childrens" birth certificates but not yours if you have provided your passport number in the required section

my passport had expired but I used my passport number. It says I have to send kids birth certificates and either mine or their dads. Is this not usual?

It will be because your passport has expired probably. You wouldn't normally need to provide your birth certificate.

Are you renewing your passport too?

I applied recently. Passport came within 5 days! So should be fine!!!

No, mine had expired a year previous. It will be because of DCs. It will be quick. Fear not.

She is already sending the kids birth certificates.
It will be because her passport has expired and she needs her own birth certificate to show they are entitled to British citizenship through birth

Never mind birth certificates, I had to find my parents wedding certificate when I applied for my child’s passport! Still, the passport did come back very quickly, much faster than I expected.
