Have a laugh at my expense, and/or please cheer me up

Tested positive for Covid yesterday evening - fully vaccinated with 2 boosters.

Woke up with a slight tickly throat, by early evening was feeling quite a bit worse so decided to test before going to church today (several friends and colleagues are vulnerable).

Got test kit out, swabbed throat, made myself gag and then cough so much I threw up in the kitchen sink, and in coughing so hard I wet myself! Really horrible, but the worst of it was I'd neglected to read the instructions and it was a nose only swab, so I could have avoided the whole debacle. DH and kids are being very sympathetic, but have hooted with laughter at the self inflicted 'accidents'.

I feel really rough. Much worse than previous doses. Would appreciate further self deprecating stories to cheer me up!

Ahh. Sorry to hear you are ill and have had some accidents!

In the past when I was testing at work we did the throat and nose thing and I always had to remind myself it was throat before nose!

OP I did laugh - sorry!

Well, this isn't related to covid but I did this yesterday and whilst I hurt myself (a lot) it did have the family rolling about laughing.

I was eating and bit my lip on the inside and it started bleeding, so much pain. I got up off the sofa and sat down at the kitchen table, mainly so I could get it together away from everyone. My children had moved our dodgy chair back over without me realising and the bloody thing went backwards with me on it. Legs in the air and fell on my back then sideways and hurt my calf muscle.
I was crying at that point because it hurt and my mouth was still pulsating. I was also laughing between the crying because it looked so ridiculous.

So is life. I fell twice on my son last week whilst taking my shoes off too near the front door. He's still alive though.

If it helps, I've heard they're more accurate when the throat is swabbed (imagine it doesn't at all).

Covid finally caught up with me over Christmas and it put me in a right sulk. I'm 'ecv' if that's even still a thing and so was a bit nervous when I saw the positive result, having somehow managed to avoid testing positive the whole of the pandemic so far but took it as license to spend time resting and complaining. Although the first few days were grim I actually felt much better within a few days and nearly back to normal after about 5 days. It surprised me and I was also surprised that there don't seem to be any lingering symptoms. Generally a common cold will knock me out and i'll get knock on issues but I suppose the vaccines must have done their job.

Hope you feel better soon OP.
