If you were my necklace, where would you be?

I have this beautiful Oliver Bonas emerald green necklace that I bought for my birthday using money from my parents. It wasn't massively expensive (but expensive to me, I usually buy really cheap jewellery)

I went to my jewellery box to put it on today only to find the bag it comes in empty. I feel like I have turned the house upside down looking for it and it's vanished. I went through my jewellery on Friday to get rid of loads of old stuff and feel like I would have noticed then if the bag was empty.

This has been the second necklace I have lost in the last few weeks, the first being a cheaper necklace I bought to wear with it.

Both DDs swear they haven't played with it or taken it (youngest has a habit of going through my jewellery box and asking what she can have) and we have searched their rooms.

I asked St Anthony for help trying to find the necklace. No less than 10 minutes later I look in my work bag and what do I find at the very bottom? The first necklace I lost! No idea how it got there and I'd given up looking for it already.

So while I'm still driving myself crazy can anyone tell me where my beautiful necklace might be? Have already gone through all the recycling, bin bags (🤢), drawers, under bed, stripped bed, behind vanity, under bath and sink.

In the pocket of clothes or a bag from last time you wore it?

In the bathroom cabinet? I’ve absentmindedly put earrings in mine when getting ready for a shower.

In a pocket in a less used bag. Took it off for safe keeping or such.

I once lost (and didn't admit to losing...) a lovely, inherited, C18th gold necklace. Turned up in a fancy going out bag a few years later, I think I'd worried I'd lose it dancing.

I sometimes find jewellery in my dressing gown pocket.

YesitsBess · 12/02/2023 14:31

Always in my make up bag. Always...

SlightlyJaded · 12/02/2023 14:33

In the bed
In a pocket
In DDs room (she borrowed it to play with but she is panicking now because she knows you are stressed so had hidden it harder).
In a puddle on a window sill

I’m guessing one of the following:

bedside drawer
windowsill of bedroom/bathroom
a rarely used going out bag
side door of the car
bottom of daughter’s toy box

I've written a list of all suggestions and have checked most (DDs room will be harder as she owns so much stuff!)

Will need to dedicate more time to going through everything but hurried look around turned up nothing.

It's quite heavy so I feel like I would have noticed if it had come off. Last worn exactly a week ago if I go by my pictures. Have checked the washing machine and the rubber seal. Found a little ring of DDs but no necklace.

On the bathroom windowsill.

In the cat's lost property stash?

Our cat can't resist playing with necklaces, earrings, chains and hair bobbles. He stows them under the sofa when he's pinched them. I find all sorts of stuff there.

SmokyForTheWin · 12/02/2023 14:50

Down the back of a chest of drawers/bedside cabinet.

Diplidocus4 · 16/02/2023 11:16

Any luck ?

Margo34 · 16/02/2023 11:22

Laundry basket? Washing machine filter? Did you forget to take the necklace off when you got changed and it got caught in your clothing then made its way to the wash?

SlightlyJaded · 16/02/2023 11:36

Usually not far from where you expected it to be. So a jewellery box on a chest = down the back of the chest.

But I still think DDs room.

Fentylipgloss · 16/02/2023 11:39

Keep asking St Anthony. He always comes through!

Thank you St Anthony!!!

BawRamEwe · 17/02/2023 21:08

No luck so far, I need to ask St Anthony again!

I'll check the washing machine filter.

I checked behind our drawers and no luck there. Also checked the washing basket and that it hadn't gone between the basket and the lining.

It's not a really small, delicate necklace like the first one I lost and then found, so I feel like it shouldn't be THAT difficult to find. I'll post a picture to put it out to the universe in case it brings it back to me 😁

There was a poster who had a knack for "seeing" lost things, but I don't think she posts very much anymore or if she has she has name changed. I wish I had her seeing ability right now.

If you were my necklace, where would you be?
