Applied for TA job but not enough applicants

I applied for a TA job but there wasn't enough applicants so they are readvertising. As TAs are in very short supply can I assume I'm not a strong candidate?

What's your experience OP?

My school made this mistake in the past and interviewed all applicants. None were suitable and the dynamic didn't work.
They did get a whole load more applicants second time round.

Also, is it only one post they're advertising for?

No, don't assume that OP.
Our headteacher used to tell us that Council regs dictated that there had to be a minimum number of applicants so that the process was fair and due process followed (or words to that effect)
Apply again and good luck Smile

Don't assume that.
Our school has struggled for applicants for TA positions.

I'm.vastly overqualified but talking to some other TAs that's not unusual. Experience is volunteering in schools with reading and crafts. Worked in two secondary schools in non teaching role but did interact with pupils. Governor. My kids have SEN.

I would ask them if they can keep your application and reconsider it when they next short-list. I wouldn't spend time re-writing an application, spend the time applying for other roles. As you say, there are plenty around at the moment. If they end up with zero applicants you can express sympathy while telling them of your fab new job!

If the position is re-advertised due to lack of applications they usually back the existing ones to consider with newer applications. But there's no harm in phoning to ask the question
