Good Morning All! What's everyone doing today?

I'm just enjoying my first cuppa of the day, in my spot, in the kitchen. I've got the window open & can hear lots of little birds, and there's a wood pigeon cooing away to himself in the sycamore at the bottom of the garden.

I'm going to iron the girls' school shirts so they're done, and wash the few pots there are, in a bit. Might put a wash load in as well when I've had a look in the basket.

I need a few bits from little Asda too, to make meals out of what's already in, so will walk down with dd1 (and maybe dd2 if she can be arsed).

This afternoon I plan to carry on crochet Supertato, and hopefully finish him. I'll see if the girls have homework, and suggest that dd1 might want to do some revision for her upcoming mock GCSEs.

Roast chicken dinner, for tea. Maybe followed by fruit and ice cream. The fridge is chock-full of fruit to last the week after yesterday's visit to the market 😋

What about all of you? 🙂

Being really lazy for the last couple of hours. Caught up with TMS and now watching The Brits. About to go cat feeding for 2 cats as soon as DD2 sorts herself out. Then making pancakes for breakfast. I'll then do a workout from YouTube then dog walking for a friend this afternoon. Roast for tea & I'm hoping OH will do most of the work!

HeyMicky · 12/02/2023 09:13

Dog walk once I get out of bed.

DH is going to PILs to help sort their garage so I have the DDs. They both need to practice for dance exams, then we are doing a grand clear out of the playroom. Ironing at some point.

I went away to Bologna last weekend and learned to make pasta so it's fresh big tortolloni for supper.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 12/02/2023 09:15

Proper lazy morning so far. Everyone's in pjs, DC are watching cartoons and eating breakfast and I'm having the first coffee of the day. DCat is having a mad half hour hunting shadows round the house.
I'm hoping the kids will let me have a quiet morning at home after a busy day yesterday so I can get on with some housework and reset the place for tomorrow and then I'm taking DD to a party later and dropping DS at the grandparents on the way.
Home for dinner, bath and bedtime and a peaceful evening for me!🤞

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 12/02/2023 09:16

Good morning Lucysmam. I've had two coffees and a bit of crunchy toast. Shortly I'll put towels on to wash. Then it's a quick walk to Aldi for a butternut squash. I'm making soup later, butternut squash, sweet potato and ginger. I have a small ironing to do and I'm working up to clearing a garden bed of dead plants so it's ready for cats to crap in it. 🙄

Eyesopenwideawake · 12/02/2023 09:22

Off to the airport for my flight to Zurich - going to spend a week with my mother 😊

BodyShapeWoes · 12/02/2023 09:24

Good morning

Today I want to deep clean the kitchen, meal plan and shop for the week, take the dogs out for a nice long walk, and maybe start raking the leaves in the garden…

Currently sat watching Green eggs & ham with the kids with a coffee waiting for their school uniform to finish washing to get it out for drying!

I may send DH to the tip to get rid of a pile of rubbish

defi · 12/02/2023 09:26

Lie in, having coffee in bed. Off to see the new puss in boots later with kids

Morning @lucysmam and all!

I'm still not feeling 💯 with this sore throat 🙄 have been up for a couple of hours just pottering around. DH has ordered me (nicely) Into the bath with tea and my kindle while he sorts the DC.

Online shop coming in a bit including a chicken which I'll put in the slow cooker for "roast" chicken dinner this evening.

This afternoon we are going for a walk in the woods and tea and cake in a cafe then home for aforementioned roast dinner then hopefully when dc asleep get settled under heated blanket with DH, a bottle of wine, and the TV!

All in all a lovely Sunday hopefully.

MercuryRising · 12/02/2023 09:35

Good morning.

So far we have had breakfast and dc have watched TV and played Roblox. I've put the uniforms into wash.

I'm about to have a bath then we need to pop to aldi and collect a parcel. Then we are meeting my partner and his parents for a roast. After that we are off for a family walk. I love Sundays.

Simonjt · 12/02/2023 09:41

Good morning everyone, after nearly 34 hours of travel I’m only an hour and a half away from London! I am never ever travelling that far away from my family again, I hated every moment of it.

I was meant to land early this morning, but my flight was delayed by seven hours. I’m taking my son to watch England later, which is ideal when you’re knackered. Then I’m going to spend the rest of the day being an absolute limpet with our daughter, poor sod.

embolass · 12/02/2023 09:42

im showered and face 💄 on for the day.
Stripped our bed and want it all washed and dried back on before Call the Midwife tonight.
Dog walk is next followed by ironing and roast pork to be made for dinner. DS been away for weekend and will be back starving later on, might make a mint areo pud if can squeeze it in, also a batch of curry for this week whilst am at work. White wine around 4 pm, family dinner then quick tidy before evening of tv.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 12/02/2023 09:43

Good morning! just had large cup of tea and peanut butter and marmite on toast.

Then will have a shower and either drive or walk (just under an hour and all downhill) to a posh London village pub for Sunday lunch for a first date. Will grab a latte or cappuccino on the way.

gwenstifado · 12/02/2023 09:44

Not having the best day here. Been up since 5 with poorly dc and then just as he nodded back off the baby woke up. Made us all breakfast and dh has gone to walk the dog. Later we might go for a mooch around the park and possibly have a Sunday pub lunch as nobody can be bothered to cook. But we've all been unwell and I'm not sure if I can face it.

It'll be baths and early nights all round I think.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 12/02/2023 09:45

Later on I’ll come home for a snack and watch Antiques Roadshow, Countryfile, feed the cat and have a bath and prep for work tomorrow.

Greengreented · 12/02/2023 09:46

Puppy training all day! She’s been with us a week and we’ve had a tiring week but she’s making a lot of progress already. Having said that, I said I’d pop to see my parents and brother today so I will be going out for a while and DH will take over. Fresh pasta with random bits from the fridge (mushrooms, chorizo, peppers, cheese etc) for dinner.

PermanentTemporary · 12/02/2023 09:47

Good morning! In bed, I had scrambled eggs and coffee while listening to music and MNing. I'm sorting cupboards atm with a view to moving soon, so I might tackle the 'art cupboard' (dusty collection of broken crayons and dried up acrylic paints). Have got a covid booster booked in the afternoon and I want to fit in a walk. Last day before going back to work so some batch cooking and an early night ideally.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 12/02/2023 09:48

Heading to London for the night, catching up with friends for food later and then DS has a cookery class tomorrow so I am going to my most fav shop in London, Hatchards for a bit of book browsing

Ragwort · 12/02/2023 09:52

A rare day with absolutely nothing planned ... bliss! I will go for a shortish walk this morning and can combine it with some admin for a volunteering role .. then whilst DH is out at golf will have an afternoon on the sofa with a couple of books. Doing one load of washing and changing the bed is the only housework planned for the day. Spanish pork casserole in the slow cooker for dinner ... watching Vera tonight. A nice quiet day after having spent a few days with my elderly mum this week she talks non stop Grin.

Retrievemysanity · 12/02/2023 09:55

Morning all! Just finished a bacon and egg sandwich in bed 😋 Taking DD1 to a dance exam later then a family walk round the reservoir before pesto salmon in puff pastry tea, TV while ironing the uniforms and an early night hopefully!

Favouritefruits · 12/02/2023 09:58

I’m taking the children out on their skateboards this morning then later on my eldest DS is going to a party so me and younger DS are going to buy a new Hoover and stop off at a cafe for cake! We had our roast last night as the chicken I ordered came with a short date so needed to be used.

TangledWebOfDeception · 12/02/2023 09:59

Morning @lucysmam and all! 🌻

I’m up and making our coffees. Which we’ll have in our pink EB mugs because it’s our anniversary month - I’ll mention that every time on these threads throughout February, because those mugs really make me happy.😄😄

Just hung out a load of tea towels that I put to wash last night.

We’ll probably have a quiet morning in bed, reading and relaxing.

We took advantage of a beautiful day yesterday and went out for a good, long walk in the afternoon. Today isn’t looking great so I’m glad we made it a priority yesterday!

Later I’ll do some organising of my clothing drawer and shelves, and tidying in our bedroom and the living room. Hoovering definitely needs to happen - upstairs and downstairs! DH will continue his work on renovations in the house. I’ll make a very non-committed effort at cleaning the kitchen.

Also have to finish properly putting away the Christmas decorations as we were very unwell through half of January so they just got taken down and put into crates without any rhyme or reason. Might sort out my crafting supplies to make them more easily accessible - we’ve been given a cabinet by PIL that they no longer needed so I now have more storage space. Very happy about that as I like to have a place for everything and everything in its place!

I’ve got shoulder of lamb on the menu today. - it felt so spring-like yesterday that it seemed appropriate, and I had one in the freezer so why not! I’ll make potatoes boulangère for DH, but I’ve gone back to strict low-carbing for my health so i’ll either have none or maybe just the tiniest portion. Might go out to get a celeriac for me, but I try not to go to the shops unless I have to, so will probably skip it.

This evening we’ll watch the last of the trilogy of Doris Day/Rock Hudson films we bought this month: Send Me no Flowers. That’ll be enough of the fluffy romance films for a good while!

(Started writing this ages ago - we’ve now had our coffees and in a little while I’m going to make DH his Saturday breakfast treat of a Nutella French toast sandwich)

Pollypocket1001 · 12/02/2023 10:02

Kids stayed at their grandparents last night so me and DH went out with friends for drinks.
I'm about to get up, put a wash on and tidy the kitchen, the kebab and chips we had last night is still everywhere 🤢

Mummyboy1 · 12/02/2023 10:02

Aww this has been a lovely thread to read through this morning. Morning everyone 😊

Very chilled morning, just finished watching a film with the little one, he's just literally gone down a for a nap. Going to hang the washing up, quick tidy and prep dinner as we're mean to be meeting some other mums for a walk. it's a new group so I'm a little nervous meeting so many people, but I always feel a bit braver when I've got my son with me.

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 12/02/2023 10:02

Morning all - unfortunately I have to work later so have done all the boring stuff like load the dishwasher & put on a load of washing. Just eating a cold chicken sandwich for breakfast (as you do!) I might try to sort out some of the ever mounting crap in our bedroom. I was planning to make a sausage casserole in the slow cooker but couldn’t be bothered so we’ll probably have fish & chips instead. Will pop to Aldi as their ex large beer battered haddock is really good. DH is collecting a new bunny this afternoon as we sadly lost one of our does recently. We have to bond her with our buck which hopefully won’t take too long. He’s really not himself, bless him. Breaks my heart to see him sitting in his hutch on his own 😢
