Brighton parking near hospital

I don't know Brighton at all but a relative is in hospital there for approx 3 weeks. I have to visit fairly regularly and it's about an hour and half from home. Does anyone know the area and have suggestion on where to park. I'm happy to pay. First visit was a disaster as I could not park at the hospital so ended up dropping other relative off and then finding a supermarket to wait in.

What's the situation with street parking in the kemptown area?

You can park at Brighton Marina for free for four hours. It's about a 20 minute walk to the hospital from the Marina or you can get the number 7 bus from by McDonalds at the marina which takes you to the hospital.

There is some street parking near the hospital but most of it is resident only and finding street parking is his and miss.

Chichester Place sometimes has spaces but as long as you are happy with a short walk / bus ride I would recommend the marina.

That's a good tip. My Dad would struggle with the bus so I could drop him off and then go and park and bus from there.
Not ideal. I wish it was easier to get to hospitals that are far from home - relative has been sent far away to Brighton due to it being the only one of the Sussex hospitals that have this treatment.

Hope all goes well with the medical treatment for your relative and I agree with the suggestion about parking.
