I have one of the newspaper free vouchers for a NT day out over half term 😁
Please can I have recommendations for the best NT place for 9 to 11 year olds?
We'd be happy to travel an hour or so from Oxford area.
(Waddeson not included on the free list unfortunately!)

There is that one just outside Banbury with a terraced garden. Upton House is it? Near there are two places Kiftsgate and a NT place right next door called something or over. Plus the toy mansion at Snowshill, but that is 50 minutes and I remember having to book. You can tell I live in the Cotswolds.

Stowe landscape gardens if it’s a dry day. Kiftgate, Hidcote and Snowshill are nice but the gardens won’t be great at this time of year (in fact they may not even be open) whereas Stowe is a large park, so not dependent on what’s in flower. Also Charlecote.

Hidcote - that was the one I was trying to remember. Thank you @GCAcademic for reminding me of that. Sudeley Castle is very special. Yes - it is possible the gardens will not be open but Upton should be. Farnborough Hall is also near Banbury. There is also that tower with the William Morris designs all the way up. Near Dormy House on the hill above Broadway.

Thanks, Upton looks great, as does Stowe! And Sudeley castle (though closed at the moment, but on the list for later in the year!) I'm busy googling some of the others - do any have good playgrounds for older children?
