Feel like the only one who wants to be single and childless?!

Love all my friends I really do, but in reality I don't see a great deal of them and they all have much more in common with each other than they do with me and they all have more to talk about (even if sometimes it's a load of drama I wouldn't want anyway) because they have more people in their lives than I do. I'm pretty isolated, I spend loads of time alone doing things I like doing by myself. I'm mostly fine with it to be honest I've had enough dramas and I don't want another relationship, but it WOULD be lovely to have a bunch of mates who live similar lives to me. Not even heavy things like pouring my heart out or booking holidays, just a laugh now and then. A few texts, the odd drink or eight in the garden together, go for a walk, just chilling now and then. You know? Am I the only one?! Spare prick dot com 🙈

I am not childless but am a lone parent. You sound great. I have one single friend and we zoom and sometimes we draw together on the zoom or discuss books etc (we don't live close by). There are people out there you just need to find them (which can be blo*dy hard)

I’m not sure I want to be forever single and childless but that’s where I am just now and where I may stay. I get where you’re coming from. It would be nice to have friendships with other people who get it - rather than just ones with friends who rightly prioritise all their other relationships first.

It can be quite lonely being the spare part!

You are not alone @Coffeesnob11 I definitely don't want to have children, and not too keen on a live-in relationship. What I do want though is a travel companion as I find travelling alone (when not for work) not too great.

However I feel your pain. The problem is friends are either in a relationship and are in the nesting mode, or constantly talk about dating and the men-related dramas and agonizing about it getting to late (we're late 30s) if they are female, or either developing crushes or completely ditching me when meeting someone if they are male.
