To send thanks or not?

Last October I left a job I hated. Was there a year. Unpleasant atmosphere with a boss who was distant and his horrible passive aggressive secretary. Two colleagues I liked very much though, and I met one of them for lunch today. He gave me a card and present from the colleagues. This felt weird because on my last day my boss didn't even say goodbye or wish me well in my new job (same organisation). Never heard another word from him. Two days after my departure, his secretary removed me from the Whatsapp group without comment.

I was hoping to have no further contact with any of them (bar the 2 I like) but now I'm wondering should I send an email to say thanks or assume (hopefully) that I have already been long forgotten.

Nope, just let it go

I think you should send a thank you card or email.

It was a nice, friendly gesture and no doubt your colleagues feel similarly about the boss and the secretary.

Yes, send a thank-you message to the one you met for lunch, and ask them to pass the thanks on.

This. But thank the two you liked. The rest forget.

It's probably the 2 you liked that instigated the gift. Thank them and move on.
