Why do boys love gaming so much ? 9 year old ds love it

Many video games are designed to be addictive, especially to impressionable young kids. Often there are rewards for playing longer etc, with some Nintendo games even making kids feel
guilty for not playing regularly enough. So they can easily end up obsessed with them.

It’s not just boys 🤷‍♀️

DD17 and I (38) both love gaming too…

Not saying it just boys but it certainly seem to be much more a of boy thing amongst the people I know
dd would occasionally play video games but certainly not for hours
and out of all the other kids I know it’s mainly th boys that are really into it

Maybe the same as motorbikes and fast cars....probably to do with the adrenalin rush and also the competitivity?

As above ...it's addictive. Make sure they do lots of other non screen stuff too.

I'd love to know this. My ds is obsessed my dd isn't interested.

The think I find so odd though is it doesn't make him happy. We had this revelation the other week once we took it off him completely and we realised how much he'd been tantrumming over it. The best way I can describe it as something he felt compelled to do not something he enjoys.
