I think 'Uncle Charles' might be Charles William Chastel de Boinville, married to Robin's paternal aunt Sophia Elizabeth Murdoch. He was the son of a renowned architect, born in Japan and was himself a vicar. The only thing I can find about him was that he was vicar of Hythe but agreed to officiate in Hastingleigh in 1955.
