The Kings Arms and Hotel in Godalming has recently been redone, although I’ve not stayed there. That is near to Chiddingfold which is pretty, but I can’t imagine what you’d actually do there, other than go for a pub lunch or something. (Think they gave the crown inn or the swan which both do rooms.)
Godalming has the river wey. You could rent a narrow boat in the right season.
The Merry Harriers in Hambledon also does rooms.
That general area is central to a lot of the pretty places people have mentioned (shere etc)
if you like Gardens and things, there is Winkworth Arboretum, Ramster Gardens, Vann house (private home but does do garden open days - check for dates) Bluebells/daffodils etc when the time is right for those sorts of things.
Petworth, which is just over the border in Sussex, has a nice little market town feel with a focus on antiques. Plus the NT property for walks and art.
