What are the restaurants in the Shard like?

Lots of mixed reviews online. I need to book a special birthday meal. Would love to know what people who have been think of them.

My main concern is it costing a lot for something that isn’t worth it. Or does anyone have other restaurant recommendations along the South Bank, please, that would be memorable for a special occasion?

It’s worth it if you value the view and think of the shard as special. I’ve eaten at all of them at some point (work near by) and they’re good food and service, and amazing views, but ££££ and slight tourist traps.

If you’re in that neck of the woods but don’t fancy the prices, I’d look at the Pont de la Tour or OXO tower. They’re both pricey but less ridiculous.

I went to Hu Tong in the Shard. It was a few year ago but I absolutely loved it. Went for the banquet so each dish was a surprise. Would absolutely love to go again.
