Does anyone know where I can get dla renewal forms from asap? Do they have them at the job centre? I’ve just made a massive mistake filling the forms out and it’s not something I can correct (it’s a whole page filled in the wrong place 🤦🏻) it’s got about 6 weeks left before dla ends so need them quick 😢 if I have one posted out it will take ages can I get them from anywhere?

Go to a library and print it there? Ask your local CAB?

Morph22010 · 08/02/2023 20:54

Not sure where you can get but don’t worry too much about getting renewal in close to the deadline as they get dealt with quicker. I sent mine in last year about two week before the deadline thinking I’d just have to accept some missed payments and it was turned around in just over a week.

SpinningFloppa · 08/02/2023 20:58

Really? I’ve heard people’s not being done on time even though they sent it months in advance? I thought I was really pushing it. Getting to the library to print them all would be difficult so just want somewhere I can just grabbed them from.

Our local library you can print from your phone so it’s less faffy than it used to be.

Is your child under any hospital team? Our nurses did ours for us but they should at least give you copies?

BessieSurtees · 08/02/2023 21:03

You can not get them from job centre etc you either have to get them online or by post. You could ring local advice agencies to ask if they happen to have blank forms or could print one off. Will getting to the library be harder than that?

Could you add a note to say that the section you've filled out in the wrong place belongs to Question X?

And then use a separate piece of paper to answer the question that should have been answered?

I supplemented my recent application for DLA with about 16 additional sheets of paper (all numbered & with my child's name/d.o.b./NI number).

I'm sure that if you make it clear which bit goes where, it'll be ok.

I was suprised, I think it’s the new claims they do in order of receipt

The only other thing I can think of is that mine is fairly straightforward as we are middle rate care and lower rate mobility and it’s fairly clear cut that we should get these as my child is in special school so I sent ehcp and risk assessment and it’s fairly clear from those alone thst he needs care over and above a typical child of his age, although I filled in the form properly I have my doubts they even bothered to read. I suppose if a decision was more marginal and they had had to consider more carefully or request further info it could take longer

Crunchymum · 09/02/2023 06:28

Call them for a new form

the Op states is asking if anyone knows of any other way as it will take ages by post and she needs one quick

If you can’t print from a library or anyone you can get to print for you I would just add a note to say which question it relates to. I add pages of typed notes and often just write in the box see additional notes on page such and such and it’s been fine.

Yes the do them.in order of date it was my sons renewal.last May he gets HRC,and HRM, under SMI rules, those Facebook groups are obsessed with sending the forms back.immediately and then complain, it takes ages forever to receive a decision ,anyway I sent my sons form ,s back about three weeks before.it ran out and it was renewed ,six days before it expired

Yep.I went to tribumal.to.get HRM, under the Severe mental impairment, rules for my son ,so I figured it DLA overturned the decision on renewal they would have to have a bloody good reason, and seeing as he goes to a special.school for children. With children who have severe and profound learning disabilities, and his EHCP ,Paediatric reports ,Individual learning plans etc that I sent in all clearly outline his disabilities they wouldn't have had a leg to.stand on

Hi I'm new here. I've just wanted to ask if anyone is like me. I've had a baby extreme premature 24+5 days. We spent 13 weeks in NICU and released home in May. I have send a dla claim as he came home on oxygen 0.1 and the form was received on 10th May this year. I haven't heard anything back so far just wondering if he's entitled to it or not ? And how long for the decision. Its been already 17 weeks and counting

x2boys · 08/09/2023 21:15

I think 20 weeks is about a,normal.time frame for new claims

Bellelitgel · 03/10/2023 23:14

Hi, hoping you might know. My renewal form didn't come out and I tried ringing every other day for the phone to keep cutting me off for about 4 weeks before renewal ended. I eventually got through 2 days after my renewal ended and they said I would have to start a new claim and accepted responsibility of the phonelines but not missing form. I've rang back since as they said I have to start a new claim and was told I would have a call back in 48 hours which did not happen took me 5 attempts to get through 8 days later, again accepted responsibility of not calling me back. I've been advised to send in a covering letter asking if it can be treat as a renewal, it's just all so stressful. Sorry for the massive long post. Wish I knew I could have downloaded a form 😩
