Invisalign / clear aligners consultation

I have a consultation next week. Are there any specifics I should ask about?

I'll ask about attachments, or whatever they are called, and whether I'll need them.

A question about what happens if I need to continue post the timelines they give. Do you generally have to pay for more sets?

Any other advise?

I am coming to the end of my invisalign. You will need the attachments on your teeth, this is what holds the aligners in. These will be on until your treatment is finished.
The package I have is that everything is included so if it takes longer then I don’t pay more. I was worried about doing it but honestly you get used to it pretty quickly and the weeks wiz by. I changed my aligner every week and the teeth move really quickly.
For me it was definitely worth doing as I was really conscious. Good luck 🤞

How long has it taken Flower?

I'm 10 weeks in. It's been straightforward, painless and I can see improvements already. Mine is also the package where everything is included.

I finished Invisalign in august, I started in March. There are different grades dependant on how complex your case is. I had a tooth that needed moving 4mm and an overbite so I had the comprehensive plan which is unlimited and I changed them once a week, it also includes your retainers - which you have to wear for life over night once you are finished.

I have a snaggle tooth I am hoping it will sort out.

Mine was a snaggle tooth as well. Should have worn my braces when I was a kid but didn't..... really have had no problems with pain at all so far.

Make sure you check what is included - eg retainers at the end etc. Mine was inclusive of as many trays as needed and also standard retainer but not the invisalign branded one which would have been more.

Is it obvious you are wearing them?

I had them from February to July

I was only supposed to have them from February until May but I wanted further refinements

These were free of charge and included a metal fixed wire, nighttime retainer and tooth whitening

I think I paid around £2.2k

I miss my daytime aligner Blush

How long has it taken Flower?

I started in March last year. My dentist did say to expect it to take around a year. I had whitening included as well which I just about to start. Definitely worth doing.

Is it obvious you are wearing them?

I’d say not really… but if you have the I think you would notice if someone else has them.
