Am I likely to have been protected by the Pill?

Hi all,

I know this is a female health matter but the heath boards are very quiet.

I've been stupid. I've been on the combined pill for 15 months, no issues and never missed a pill.

I usually take it continuous but 1 month ago decided to have a pill free 5 days. I did and had a withdrawal bleed.
I then restarted my pill. However, I only had 3 days left and was unable to get my repeat script because I had to have a review and my blood pressure was too high. Dr asked me to record bp for a week and I could restart pill if the average reading was ok.

I hate the mini pill, so did not use contraception for 12 days whilst doing my BP recordings. Partner is aware of this and we were careful during this time.

Fortunately my BP was ok, so Dr agreed I could go back on the combined pill but by this point, I had been off contraception 12 days...or realistically a month since my withdrawal bleed apart from 3 days of pill in between.

I got my pill back and normal sex resumed. Fast forward to a week on and I'm having what I would call ovulation pains. Prior to the pill, I've always suffered a lot with ovulation pains. These pains are exactly the same.
It's just occurred to me that I probably have not been protected for the first week on the pill.

So my question...
Could I have ovulated? Or not possible as I've been on.the pill a few days?

I've been having sex up until this point, in the first week of restarting my pill. I'm really worried now there is a risk of pregnancy.

You were not on reliable contraception and having unprotected sex. Of course there is a huge risk of pregnancy.

I can't believe it didn't even occur to me that I wasn't protected in the first week of starting the pill. I completely forgot they told me this when I initially started the pill 15 months ago. I only looked into it because I think I'm ovulating.
I'm hoping my chances are low as I've notong been off the pill, my chances will reduce because I'm 36 and my partner 53. I do realise this doesn't mean I can't get pregnant but I'm clutching at straws.

Yeah sorry you're supposed to use condoms/abstain for the first 7 days :/

The copper coil can be fitted as emergency contraception later than the morning after pill is useful? I would be on the phone to the GP first thing and see if that's a possibility
