Sitting & Weaning

Baby is 6 months, will sit unaided for maybe 30-40, seconds then has a bit of a wobble. If he's leant against something or someone he's fine. He's actively trying to pull himself up to a sit and gets about half way and can correct himself but doesn't always, then will either fall and flip on his back or will fall and move onto his front.

I cannot remember a thing from my first! Do we start weaning? He's got a really supportive high chair but I'm guessing it's more about prevention of choking.

We would be doing BLW, we're having sweet potato mash and broccoli and I wondered whether to give him a bit.

Just to add, he also sits in his highchair upright without slumping.

I think it's really only about sitting up in the high chair so crack on. It's basically just to make sure they don't slump or topple over and choke, which they would at say, 3-4 months even with support of the high chair. If he's fine in the high chair, yes. I don't think many babies are sitting completely unaided at 6 months for more than a handful of seconds.
