How old do I look websites.

Recently I've been a bit worried that I was starting to look older than my actual age. Mainly as my husband looks very young for his age so the difference between us is more obvious.
I've debated about starting a mumsnet thread but those posters that do usually get a bashing and people claiming they are stealth boasting so I wasn't brave enough for that.
So I googled 'how old do I look' and there are a few websites that use AI to give an age. Now, I'm happy with the results as they all place me younger than I am but I wondered if they are biased as I'm pretty certain I don't look a decade younger than I am which is what one of the sites said.
Could any of you give it a try and see what you get? Particularly if you think you look your age (I'm not so interested in people that think they look significantly younger than they are)
I just want to get an idea about how accurate these sites are as this isn't the kind of question I feel I can ask anyone I know!
Thanks.

I've tried one of those sites before, two different photos taken within seconds of each other gave two wildly different results.

I wouldn't trust them sites. I'm sure you look fab. We all put ourselves down as women and look for flaws whether it's how old we look or scrutinizing a fine line. The best thing to do is enjoy life and stop worrying. I was in a really bad habit of putting myself down and worried about aging for some reason. Now I look at women older than me and genuinely think they look fabulous. The likes of Kate Winslet who has got wrinkles and embraces aging is absolutely stunning, Emma Thompson is another one. I plan on doing the same. I'm 33 but I remember throughout my 20's agonising over the odd fine line and started botox. I no longer get botox and I couldn't care less. Why do you care? Just wear spf50 and you'll be fine lol.

I look younger in still photos because my face is composed. In real life and in different lighting or outside you can see my face animated and any wrinkles!

ThirstyMeeples · 06/02/2023 21:52

Thanks, that's really kind 😊I'm not sure why it's started bothering me recently, I've always been a big champion of ageing naturally and I'm not particularly vain but it has started to niggle me recently. My son also made a comment that I looked older than his friend's mum who I know is 5 years older than me. So I think it's those things combined that have started this.

@ThirstyMeeples Charming! 😂 maybe his friends mum gets work done. Honestly, try not to worry, I'm sure you look great. You sound lovely and nice people always look better as they smile instead of scowl lol

I wonder how old your son is. if he is 30 - it’s one thing but if he is 11 - he is not a reliable expert in the issue.
DD scanned me jokingly with her AI app and it told that I was 5 years younger then in reality. She then scanned my photo and the app said that I was 10 years older. I don’t think that these apps are very reliable.

He's a teenager and his friend's mum is more glamorous than me so hopefully he's confusing being made up with looking young?? (ill tell myself that anyway 😁

Just post your photo on this thread and we will all be honest in a kind way. Just filter out the omg hun you look 18 and the you look about 93 ps are you an actual hag? Replies and pay attention to the middle ones 😂

pigsinoodies · 06/02/2023 23:04

Wouldn't it be good if supermarket self-scans could use AI to make an attempt to work out your age before making you wait for a member of staff to approve your purchase? I can't believe there's not a camera which could validate my wrinkles and grey hair. No youngster's going to try and emulate my look.

gemloving · 06/02/2023 23:19

Funny how age can trigger certain things. I am sure you are beautiful. All looks fade, aging is a privilege. Too many leave this earth too early Flowers

ThirstyMeeples · 07/02/2023 08:18

You are so right about that gemloving I do think about that often having lost a friend in her 30s so it puts a lot into perspective. Funnily enough, even starting this thread has helped. And let's be honest, there's not a lot I can do about it anyway! Even if I upped my grooming, I'd still look my age just with slightly shinier hair.

dontblinkatme your comment made me laugh. That is exactly the way those threads end up 😁

Exactly and I often find that Botox & co don't really make people look younger but just different. It's good to have the conversation to remind ourselves what really matters.

Squirrelsnut · 07/02/2023 12:30

I don't want to sound preachy - but so what if you look older than you are? It's only society's toxic ageism and sexism which makes us worry about it so much.

I'm in my 50s and I can say that people age at different rates at different times and can 'overtake' each other then level off. I also know several people my age who are more attractive (in my eyes) than when they were younger. And I don't think there's any lotion, potion or cosmetic tweakment that makes a genuinely convincing difference.

I bet you look great.
