I am absolutely devastated. I don't know why I'm posting really there's nothing anybody can do. I just feel sick and heartbroken it wasn't particularly expensive...just sentimental and no replacement will ever be MY ring and I know this will bother me for the rest of my life to be honest. I've lost indoors. It can't fall off. I take it off all the time because I don't wear it to work. I'm so upset and I just needed t moan.

Ah, that's a shame. The diamond on mine came flying out when I was at the gym and never found, so I just used it as a good reason to get a better new one from DH.

If you’ve lost it indoors you’ll find it

NCcantthinkofanewone · 06/02/2023 20:15

Indoors ar home or work?

If you know it's inside somewhere you will find it!

Email around work asking people to keep a look out if took off there

Purplestarballoon · 06/02/2023 20:18

Have you checked the u-bends of the sinks?
I knocked my wedding ring down the sink and wouldn’t have noticed but for retracing my steps and realised I’d last taken it off near the sink.

It might turn up! Lost mine for a few weeks, even started the insurance process. Turned up in the peg bag while I was hanging out washing 🤦🏻‍♀️

PanettoneMoly · 06/02/2023 20:35

I feel some of your your pain. I lost my wedding ring a few months ago (we think it dropped into the kitchen bin) and have had a couple of newer work colleagues ask when the wedding is. 5 years ago love 😩

Plus it was my mum’s mum’s ring, and she’s pretty narked I’ve managed to lose it after only 5 years when they managed to keep hold of it for 80+ years.

I use to not wear my ER everyday and similar to you not wear it at work because I was worried I'd be judged because of its size (it was pretty mega!)... anyway it ended up being stolen when we were burglared. It was devastating but we had insurance so we had made another one which looks very similar.
I now wear it all the time and I don't care what people might think of me.

I hope you fond your ring OP and then you never take it off!

OnSecondThoughts · 06/02/2023 20:42

I do hope you find it! Take heart, if it's indoors somewhere then it can be found.

TobermorysMusicMachine · 06/02/2023 20:48

I lost mine, no idea where, looked down whilst driving home to see it no longer there. It wasn’t valuable, not worth claiming on insurance. Went without it for about a year and have just been bought a new one for my birthday this year. Ended up going not for like for like but something different. My 3 year old is obsessed, can’t stop looking at it, wants to be married so he can have a shiny bit too!

I hope it turns up but if it doesn’t I hope there’s a next chapter for you! My new ring actually looks better with my wedding ring - it’s a better match/combination as it was bought with the wedding ring already on my finger.

I lost mine for nearly a year. It is very expensive and very sentimental. I felt absolutely awful, but my husband said at the end of the day it’s just a thing and he was right. It is just a thing.

It turned up in the most random place.

You will find it!

Growlybear83 · 06/02/2023 21:02

Don't give up hope - I found mine after about ten years. I took it to a jeweller to have the diamond replaced ten years ago and they really mangled it. I started wearing another ring and tucked it away to get it restored when I could afford it. when I found a good jeweller last year I decided to get it reshaped and then realised it was nowhere to be found. I searched every bit of my bedroom several times. Then I found it in a little silver pot that I had also lost, pushed right underneath a chest of drawers. I remembered straight away that I'd hidden it when we went on holiday years earlier.

StillWantingADog · 06/02/2023 21:07

Ah I lost mine when I was pregnant. It fell down a nook/crannie at the gym. They did do a fairly thorough search but to no avail. I am convinced it will one day be found.

I got and replacement made and paid for through insurance - looks exactly the same but the diamond is fancier.

I was devastated, felt numb for days. I know exactly how it feels. It sound like yours has a better chance of turning up though.

I did get over it. 💐

I lost mine for 10 months. It was in the coin trap of our washing machine.
