Does anyone use a saddle chair / stool for wfh?

I wfh most days and need to do something about my posture. Despite yoga most days (ranging from a quick stretchy 10mins to 45 min practise) the muscles at the base of my nexk/shoulders are constantly tight.

So I'm looking at a saddle stool, does anyone use one? And can say whether they help with posture and upper back? Some reviews mention that it hurts their hip flexor at first, but I ride horses, so hopefully won't have that problem. And I'd benefit from them being looser anyway!

I did also look at a kneeling stool, but an worried about shin pain/lack of blood flow to lower legs. And I wouldn't get the hip flexor benefits.

I sit on an exercise ball which I really like.

However, if the pain is in your neck/back it sounds like it might be related to your screen height/set up. Do you use a laptop/monitor riser and have you looked at how to set your desk up ergonomically?

They say your eyes should be level with the top of your monitor, but I find having my monitor a bit higher so I'm looking straight on at the centre of it more comfortable.

Yes, I have a riser and the dse is correct, monitor level with eyes, correct height desk (and footstool to compensate fomy short legs) and correct angle at elbows.

But I carry a lot of stress/tension in my shoulders (I tense there in stressful situations for example) and have a tendency towards rounded shoulders.

I was wondering whether a chair that put my spine in a more s curve neutral position and that I had to slightly engage my core to use would have a knock on effect and help me naturally put my shoulders in a better place. I don't round my shoulders when riding, but not sure whether that is the seating position or the fact I am concentrating on my position affecting my horse?

An exercise ball is an interesting option, I would have thought it would be too low from ones I have used at the gym? I'll investigate...

@Unbridezilla did you get a saddle chair in the end? How did it work out for you? I'm thinking of getting one due to tight hips from years of sitting for hours at a time.

I alternate between a standing wobble board (sometimes walking desk when I canbbe arsed) and a kneeling stool, I love my kneeling stool but it couldn’t be an all day event for me as like you said it’s the pressure on the legs so I end up doing kneeling in the morning and standing in the afternoon.
