Can you get private x-ray referrals? DC may need one.

DC is at uni in Bllomsbury, central London and has injured his ankle. Its swollen and he can't walk on it. UCL Hospital is very close. He's waiting for 111 to call him back, but if he needs an x-ray it's late to be going tonight, and there's a nurse's strike tomorrow. He is covered by DH's private health insurance, with Bupa and free access to Babylon, but we're not experienced users. If he contacts them, will they be able to refer him for an x-ray at a private clinic very nearby (he's on crutches), or will they just send him to the same place that 111 will send him to, with the same waiting time?

There are private x ray places in London that don't need a referral, rather you just see a doctor briefly before at the same place - I've used them before. Also one of the hospitals near Harley street (I think the princess grace?) has a private A&E I seem to remember

Sure London clinic on Harley St will have or there will be a private wing in UCH. Definitely worth contacting Babylon and then the insurer can advise

We have Bupa and to be honest the length of time they will take to authorise it will probably be longer than the NHS takes to do it.
