When did your early term/slightly prem babies wake up a bit?!

I had my baby at 37 weeks, though he's very small and had breathing difficulties and a few other issues so I do wonder if he was closer to my dates as the NHS changed them at my scan which would of made him 36 weeks.

He wakes up to feed but is asleep 100% of the time otherwise! My firstborn was so much more alert and awake. Has anyone had this with early term, or very slightly premature babies (35/36 weeks?) do they sort of wake up around their due date is what I'm wondering?

My premature baby is 27 this year @doingitalllagain She was 7 weeks early and sleepy for about 6 weeks if i recall correctly. I was told that it was very normal. She's a lovely healthy young woman now but I still remember the anxiety about her health when she was tiny.
Congratulations 🎊

My son was born at 37 weeks after I had a health issue. He was smaller than my other kids at birth, although not tiny.
He spent most of his first 6 weeks or so asleep and curled into a ball.

My two boys were born at 36+3 and 36+4. DS1 was as you describe, asleep the whole time! I remember meeting up with NCT group and him being the only one who was always asleep. He got more alert by about 8 weeks. I don't remember DS2 being so sleepy for so long, but I was running around after a toddler that time rather than just sitting staring at the baby 😂.

My boy was born at 33wks and I would say it took him 3 months to wake up properly! He wasn't even particularly small but not ready to be awake yet! Now a strapping 5yo just about to go into size 8-9 clothes

My youngest was born at 32 weeks & came home from hospital when he was about 36/37 weeks from memory. Very sleepy but was breast fed fully & slept so well. Plus I'd had those 5 weeks or so while he was in special care having full nights sleep so it was a HUGE shock to my sleep pattern when he woke up at about his full term due date & we were back to 2 hourly feeds.

Yes this was dc3. He was born 36+4, and slept so much this first few weeks then soon made up for it 😍
