If you have a cleaner...

How big is your home?

How often do they clean for you?

How long for?

What do they do in that time?

How much do they charge?

Where do you live?

I'm in a 2 bed flat in Scotland, so looking to compare.

Thanks.

Huge house but I only request floors and bathrooms. 2 hrs a week, £15/hr.

Large 4 bed semi in North of England. She cleans the whole house in 3 hours once a week for £36. We're very lucky to have her.

We live in London. the going rate is £15 ph but our cleaner doesn’t charge quite that much, yet, mainly because I paid her 70% and furloughed her in the pandemic. We are on three floors and she hoovers throughout, cleans three bathrooms, changes our bed, cleans the kitchen and dusts everywhere. She comes 4 hours a week. My mum lives in a small one bed flat and her cleaner charges £25 for 2 hours every week.

Small 3 bed semi, two hours a week so £30 a week, and she does the kitchen, bathroom, living room and stairs/hall in that time

Kent. 3 bed semi. 3 hours a week but doesn’t do the whole house. £15ph

We have a three bed house with a kitchen diner and a large living room and downstairs WC. She does three hours a week and for that we pay £45. It’s on the pricier side for an independent cleaner and more like what you would
pay for an agency locally but I think well
worth it as she tidies up as well as cleans which makes the world of difference

Sitting room, kitchen, bathroom in a small house - £20 a fortnight. Money well spent 😊

Emmab321 · 05/02/2023 10:47

4 bed house . We get 2 hours per week so the rooms done vary from week to week . £15.50 p/h .in Yorkshire

Mine cleans the kitchen, all the floors downstairs (3 public rooms and kitchen), hall, stairs and landing, hoovers the kids rooms and changes their beds, cleans the family bathroom. 2 hours @ £15/hour. Best money I spend all week.

Minfilia · 05/02/2023 12:23

6 bed/6 bath house.

6 hour clean @ £15p/h.

They do everything top to bottom, cleaning, vacuuming, surfaces, mopping, empty the bins and take them outside, etc.

Once a week.

Thanks for the replies!

I feel really lazy thinking about getting a cleaner in when I don't have a big place or lots of people living here.

I see someone mentioned having theirs in once a fortnight. Do many cleaners offer this? That might feel a little less indulgent Grin

We're in the Mitcham area, CR4, and are looking for a cleaner, if anyone can recommend one. Don't want to go for an agency, sounds like exploitation, but don't know people locally to ask, so any help welcome! Ta.
