I am currently watching Housewife 49 with the late, great Victoria Wood (still can’t believe she’s gone) for the third or fourth time. I just love it!
The acting is superb and it’s based on the real life diaries of Nella Last during wartime.
The dynamic between herself and her husband and sons. Then how she changes from a timid, anxious housewife and mother, who doesn’t feel she has any other purpose, to a much more confident and self assured character at the end, thanks to her volunteering with the women’s Voluntary society during the war itself. She finally stands up to her controlling husband.
I really recommend it for anyone who has never seen it.
Just wondered if anyone else had a film or tv show that they love and that they feel is hugely underrated.
