Did baby routines online make your baby sleep worse, or better?

I posted in sleep a few weeks ago. My baby (9m) was waking for hours in the night and I couldn’t settle her. Self settled just fine at the start of the night and wasn’t wanting milk when she woke. Slept 10.5 hours maximum at night and napped 2-3 hours during the day. I tried following the routines you see online which didn’t really improve things too much.

However since then, by chance, I’ve found that if she has two 30 minute naps a day she generally sleeps through 12 hours straight. She doesn’t seem overtired on this routine - is still happy at bedtime, goes down peacefully etc. She would happily nap for hours if I let her, but if she does, she doesn’t sleep at night. Eldest was very similar.

I’m wondering if anyone else has found the same? Sometimes I’ve looked at the routines online and they are expecting babies to sleep 14-15 h hours in 24, which is a lot! I’m wondering if these routines can make babies’ sleep worse, not better. Interested to see if it’s just me and my strange babies.

Disclaimer - I know her sleep will go sideways now I’ve posted this but it’s been such a turnaround I’m really interested in others’ perspectives.
