Medical abortion at 13 weeks

Hi

Posting here for traffic as pregnancy choices seems to be quiet. Sorry if this triggers anybody.

I’m petrified, I’m scheduled in for a medical abortion next week and I’ll be 13 weeks. In Scotland there’s no option for a surgical unfortunately.

I have so many questions and would appreciate so much if someone could answer them.

I have to take the first pill in the clinic and the second set in hospital where I’ll be having my medical abortion.

What is the general process after the pills have been vaginally inserted?

How long should I expect to stay in hospital?

What will I see at 13 weeks?

Will this essentially mimic the pain of full term labour?

Have you not had a face to face discussion with anyone from the clinic to ask these questions?

I have had a face to face but the lady from the clinic wasn’t too helpful, I’m sure the hospital itself will have the answers but I don’t go in till next week and was hoping to hear from people who’ve already experienced a similar situation for some insight.

Ive just posted about my experience at nearly 10 weeks on if this helps under pregnancy choices and abortion experience. I only just had mine yesterday

@JamToasties I hope you don’t mind me replying to you months on. I am going through this and am due to be in hospital to continue the process tomorrow after taking the first pill yesterday. I’ll be 16 weeks + 2 days and absolutely petrified!! :( The decision has not been made easily but due to diagnosis of a few things with the baby it’s not fair to continue the pregnancy. I just thought I would see if you are still active on here to let me know how things went for you?
