Home insurance renewal price!!

Just had my renewal. No changes. Have about 6 years no claims on contents and 12 on buildings (never claimed buildings)

Price was £450 last year, now they want over £2k!!

Have all policies gone up this much?! I hate shopping around for home insurance because it takes sooo long to go through all the questions, but I will if it's just my company that's raised prices this much (via Swinton, think it's underwritten by RAC)

£530 is the best price I've found, so was definitely worth shopping around! It is quite a big house and it's only about 200m from a river (although the banks are really steep and it's never flooded that I know of as we are uphill of it) which pushes the price up. Some insurers won't even quote for us so it's a pain in the arse to try and swap providers. Definitely will this year though!

Swintons did this to me. Doubled the price. So went and did comparison. Got it from same price as last year. Direct with insurers. Cut out the middlemen
