Why don't they change it so your heating wont turn off <10am when the meter runs out of credit/emergency

I'm getting really angry about this now FRUSTRATINGLY, Bulb doesn't let customers top up online or phone. Why, I don't know as it would solve this whole problem. Writing this I am now realising I think this is what I am most annoyed at!
I admit, due to rising prices I'm not tracking the balances great and top-ups are not going far. Recently I've, a few times, ran out of money in my gas meter. Electricity too but that's not much of a problem because it beeps around 9:30 until 10am when it will turn off. That gives me enough warning and I can then either ask somebody to go to the shop for me or if I am able that day I can do it myself

But the gas just goes off when the credit or emergency funds goes to £0.00. This can happen at any time with zero warning. Sometimes it runs out when we're in bed so the whole house is freezing when we wake up. Or at 3am when ds wakes as the temp drops right down, I push the boost button to find - nothing. And sat there chittering until I can sort out the top up. Why can't it be the same as the electricity meter?

Does anyone else feel this way? Why are the rules different for gas vs electric?

This is maybe a me problem as I do suffer from chronic pain and find leaving the house before the afternoon difficult. I also have a DS1. Mix that with being cold and not following his routine it's really hard

I know it doesn't solve your problem but have you plenty of blankets/oodies etc available to heat the people until you are in a position to leave the house and get your top up?
Are you in the UK and is it particularly cold in your area at the moment? I'm in the Highlands and it's been between 8 and 10 degrees this last week so definitely not perishing
