Bonus for 2022

Vanillabeanx · 02/02/2023 17:54

I am 16 months into a new job and now eligible for a full bonus which is not pro-rata.

Just found found out I have been promoted and will received a bonus of 150% roughly £13k pre-tax. Going to clear my debit and remain laser focused on saving this year.

Any one else received good compensation news this week ?

Gonna get my popcorn 🍿 out for this one

Looks like you're gloating op and potentially in for some backlash!

I mean good for you, and it's nice to come into some expected money for sure, but MN seems to not want to discuss money...

Christ, are only poor people allowed to post now then?

Sounds great to me OP

Vanillabeanx · 02/02/2023 18:00

Thanks @ChocChipOwl @walkersareback !

Congratulations

150% of what though? Bonus are usually quoted as a % of annual salary but that would make your annual salary under 5k.

Vanillabeanx · 02/02/2023 18:31

Thanks @Chewbecca 150% of my bonus target which is 10% of my base.

I'm SO confused by this maths!
Does this mean your salary is around the £43k mark?

wtfisgoingonhere21 · 02/02/2023 18:39

@Vanillabeanx

Well done and congratulations

It's nice to read good threads about nice things happening to people

Let's hope nobody jumps on and moans at you

Vanillabeanx · 02/02/2023 18:39

To be honest it took me a little while to get my head around the way my company presents bonus figures also, I assumed this is how other companies presented them… guess not.

In short I received 15% of my annual salary as a bonus.

Monkeybutt1 · 02/02/2023 18:52

So you earn 90k ish?

Sprig1 · 02/02/2023 18:54

Well done, you are clearly doing a great job.

Useitorloseit · 02/02/2023 18:57

I have recieved a pay rise equating to around £50 per month and still doesn't put me over the £1k a month mark but obviously I work part time around the kids. To be honest I was more than happy with that! Well done OP it sounds well deserved.

Mindymomo · 02/02/2023 19:01

Well done Op. both my 2 adult sons have done well recently. DS2 had 2 rises last year, gets a quarterly bonus and then a promotion and new pay rate in December just gone. DS1 also had 2 pay rises last year, a £2,000 Xmas bonus, and a 7% rise this month. The extra pay rises were to help with cost of living.

Vanillabeanx · 02/02/2023 19:34

@Useitorloseit every little help, well done!

@Mindymomo amazing news you must be super proud of them both! A annual 7% rise is really good considering the climate.

I forgot to say well done OP!
I've found out today that I'm getting promoted and will get a 15% pay rise, effective immediately.
I'm only sharing on here as it feels distasteful to share in real life.
