Hanford

I just wanted to ask if anyone had heard anything about Hanford School being withdrawn from the Good Schools Guide? I was told this via a friend of a friend that the recommendation was being withdrawn due to issues potentially around safeguarding. We were considering the school for both of our daughters, but now we are not so sure. Can anyone confirm if they have heard if this is correct or not? Many thanks in advance

Interested in this as well but don’t know much about what happened.

From a quick search all I can see is that on the GSG website it says Hanford is not yet reviewed. However, information about a review seems to be listed on a website link from the school but the page is gone. So what you’re saying might be true. Would love to know why though too!

We’re also considering Hanford too, and I’ve heard great things, other than what you mention above.
I was talking to a mother recently whose daughter attended for a few years before going to a senior girls school and she said her daughter really enjoyed it.
I wouldn’t disregard Hanford completely though because of one bad report. It isn’t super uncommon for good schools to sometimes get a bad rating, and it’s usually fixed rather quickly.

You can ring or email GSG and they will give you an outline of why they have removed a review. Looking at the latest inspection, I would be concerned about a school with such low pupil numbers.

We recently looked at this school.
It looks incredibly charming.
We have since spoken to a few old parents who hinted at deeper problems at the school. They wouldn't be drawn on what it was, one parent hinted that all is not what it seems on the surface.
I keep looking at it for DD2, who is pony mad, but having ponies is not enough for me to send DD2 there.
I am actively looking to find out more as, on paper, the school looks lovely.
There may be a perfectly innocent reason for Hanford not appearance in GSG but, until I find out more, I'm not moving forward with anything.
