The absolute relief when you get into bed at night. The feeling of not having to move your bones again.

FFS I'm only 38. But I honestly feel like from about 4pm I'm thinking of my soft warm comfy bed. Especially at this fecking cold wet miserable time of year.

Best time of day! When my dh is away, we see who can get to bed first! He won, by being in bed at 6.30, lucky bugger.

There is no bliss like an early bedtime on a wet and cold night. Even better if I have a good book and a hot water bottle!

I do love my bed, and am relieved to find I’m not the only one who starts longing for it as soon as it’s dark …

However - for me, the thing that defines grown-up-ness is the realisation that whatever strong emotion one feels - panic, despair, elation, heartbreak - will not last forever. Whatever fury or humiliation today brings - probably by this time next week you’ll have recovered some sort of equilibrium. Game changer.

I also love my bed, I sometimes giggle when I snuggle down under my duvet.

And I think when you start sneezing loud enough for your kids to complain, that’s when you’re getting old.
and when you start investigating supplements that are good for your joints !

I normally don't feel like that (in my 40s) but right now I have a broken arm and I must say, lying down knowing I don't have to open or chop or write anything with my weary left hand for 7 hours is genuinely the best moment of my day.
