The place of our dreams has unexpectedly come up in North London and we can just about afford it.

We are currently settled in a friendly London neighbourhood.

I’d love to hear some experiences of raising a family in that area of North London - Gospel Oak and nearby.

Thanks so much

Thanks @Citygirlrurallife It’s just so lovely near the Heath and Lido. It would suit DP and me down to the ground, but I’m curious about schools, vibe for kids, esp teenagers.

Our DC are young but we don’t want to still be living where we are now when they’re teenagers.

I loved growing up with the Heath and Camden Town on my doorstep. It’s an amazing part of London. I went to Camden School for Girls and my brother went to Highgate. Have no up to date info but CSG has always been an excellent state option for girls and there are plenty of private options in north London. When I was growing up single sex state options for boys were not good but Co-Ed was half decent with Acland Burghley, William Ellis, Le Sainte Union etc

no idea what any of them are like now but can def vouch for the area been amazing even 20+ years ago

We recently moved here with a 2 year old and absolutely love it. Quiet, lots of families, good schools, easy access to everywhere with the Northern Line and Overground. Being close to the park is also a big bonus.
