Where have all the rose and violet creams gone??

I really want to treat myself to a box of rose and violet creams. I love them and buy them now and again as a bit of indulgence. But none of my usual go-to shops have had them in stock for months!

Fortnum's - nope
Rococo - nope
Hotel Chocolat - nope

Whyyyyyyyyy?! Is this another thing to blame Putin for?

Does anyone have any other recommendations for places online that do have them in stock? (They need to be good quality, no soapy-tasting artificial nastiness please.) I need my old-lady chocs!

Yes, I noticed that the Fortnum's ones were out of stock. Very odd!

Mimimayhem18 · 01/02/2023 19:36

I have seen them in Lidl under their Deluxe range, but never tried them. You could try there if you have one close?

MaryJean87 · 01/02/2023 19:36

Aldi sometimes have them.

I have seen them in Lakeland before now, but maybe just Crimbo stock.

BevMarsh · 01/02/2023 19:38

Well Lidl do them and I think they're lovely.

LazJaz · 01/02/2023 19:38

Charbonell & Walker had them in about a month ago (yum)

I have seen them in M&S. Maybe they are for Valentine’s Day so will be in stock in store, but I can’t find them online.

Floofyduffypuddy · 01/02/2023 19:41

Be careful some are fondants, some are creams.

Youdbetterthrowaparty · 01/02/2023 19:41

Another vote for Lidl deluxe ones. Although I've only ever seen them in the Christmas stock.

margegunderson · 01/02/2023 19:41

Audrey's. They do supply F&M and are a lovely little shop.

ShoobeeDooLangLang · 01/02/2023 19:41

Discontinued in Lakeland.

TakeYourHatOffBoy · 01/02/2023 19:41

I've tried the Aldi ones and am not that keen (also have only ever seen violet creams in our local one, no rose)

John Lewis have them but they are expensive

ShoobeeDooLangLang · 01/02/2023 19:44

Not available in Waitrose.

Is there a conspiracy to keep them from you, or maybe someone somewhere is cornering the market and will sell them at a vast profit on eBay?

TakeYourHatOffBoy · 01/02/2023 19:45

Oh I'm liking the look of Audrey's, reasonab!e prices too!

ShoobeeDooLangLang · 01/02/2023 19:46

Amazon has 7 boxes in stock and says they are reduced in price, but they are now at about the same price as Lakeland before their after-Christmas sale.

It is very odd! Good to see that some places still have them but it's really odd that none of my usual suspects do! Definitely a shortage somewhere...

Guilbert’s of Bristol! Absolutely fantastic, loads of old-fashioned flavours.

Their mixed selection is like quality street before they went shite, and they also sell boxes of floral creams separately. Rose and violet are great, but try the mixed floral creams as they also have geranium, which is my favourite.

TakeYourHatOffBoy · 01/02/2023 19:50

Hmmm, geranium you say? Sounds intriguing, might have to give that a go.
