Appointment in half an hour...should I get cheek filler?

Hi all,

So in just over half an hour I have an appointment to get Botox (been getting it a while). I've also decided I'd like some cheek filler but am a little nervous.

She's only doing 0.5ml each side, So it won't be extreme. I'm hoping it'll lift my face a little and maybe have some positive effect on my undereye circles. However, I'm nervous in case it looks odd. Also, I'm worried about swelling, as I'm working tomorrow.

So, has anyone had cheek filler? Did it swell bad? How much filler did you get and were you pleased?

Thank you.

I would go for it! I was the same as you, had Botox for a while and then had just 0.5 put in so it's really very subtle. It does however give you just a bit more lift and just refreshes everything. For me it's a little tender for the first 48 hours and some people do get a little bruising but otherwise it's great - I'm sure you would be fine to go to work the following day.

@FanFckingTastic thank you for your reply. Do you find it helps at all with your under eye area? (If you have dark circles).

I didn't particularly have problems with dark circles so didn't really notice a change in that respect. It definitely makes my face look just a bit more youthful though :-)

If it helps, I had the tear trough filler and it looks amazing. After a stressful few months I had awful bags and they went away same day! You wouldn't know I had it done as I just look my usual self.

I had the same amount as you, 0.5 on each side. I found it was swollen for a few days. I looked like Vincent from Beauty and the Beast for a few weeks afterwards. I hid it with my hair until I got it dissolved somewhere else.

I already had high cheekbones and probably wasn't suitable for it but some of these clinicians will do it whether it's needed or suitable, or not, just for the money.

Are they using a cannula?

It's supposed to be helpful for under eye, nasolabial area and jowls if those are problem areas for you.

I didn't get the cheek filler and am a bit disappointed. She basically said I have nice cheekbones and no jowls and the filler is to help with the lower part of the face.i largely wanted it to help the under eye area but she seemed to think it wouldn't make a difference. She said temple filler is better for this but I don't see that helping under my eyes!
I'm sure I've read cheek filler helps the under eye area.

I've had tear trough filler before which looked great, except the Dr at the time used a thick filler and it bulged terribly when I smile and it seems they suggest cheek filler these days to help with under eyes, so I'm at a bit of a loss as I hate my under eye area!

If you already have high cheekbones (nice cheekbones as she said) you don't need it and you'll look ridiculous even with a small amount. Be grateful she told you, a few would just take the money and inject the filler.

Yes it can help with eyes, but so can temple filler or tear trough.

Yesorno1 · 01/02/2023 19:09

I'm grateful she didn't just do it anyway but we had discussed cheek filler before and she was going to do it the last time I was there but I had a different treatment instead. I suppose I'm disappointed because I'm self conscious about my under eye area and had my mind set on this potentially helping. She won't do tear trough filler and I can't see how temple filler will significantly help my under eye area.
