TV house renovations- are they built to last?

Just thinking about DIY SOS and other projects that do fairly big renovations in a short space of time.

In the real world this work could take months which makes me wonder if they're actually doing a decent job or cutting corners which mean that the renovations won't last as long as you'd hope.

Anyone have insight/experience of this?

No idea but I'd hope they were all done to meet the appropriate regulations so no worse than any other alterations.

You'd hope, wouldn't you?

They must have to get all the planning permission etc way in advance.

Not renovation, but I had a friend who was on 60 minute make over.

Not that it’s actually done in 60 mins, there’s a lot of prep, but they had to get decorators in after they left, it was left in a hideous state. It looked like someone had let a bunch of pre school kids loose with paint rollers.

No, a friend used to work on Changing Rooms and they generally botched it and also had piles of mess and undone stuff carefully kept behind the camera.
