Has anyone sold jewellery/watches recently. I don’t know where to start and feel very guilty

My husband died, he had 2 expensive watches.
my mil died, I have her wedding and engagement rings and a set of pearls.
I have my own wedding and engagement ring.

they’re all just sitting there and I have no money.
I was saving watches for ds, but he isn’t really a flashy watch person, he’s also autistic and doesn’t wear a watch.

do I just find a local jewelller, or online, eBay?
anyone got any advice?

The sad fact is jewellery doesn’t sell well secondhand. I would personally take round to independent jewellers, as many as are near you and see who offers you the most. I personally would not sell anything valuable online. You would need to pay extra for insurance to post.

There are a lot of variables with this OP but as the PP rightly says, jewellery doesn't generally hold its price secondhand. However, factors such as the carat weight of any stones in the rings or if the watches are a very high end make (eg the likes of Cartier or Rolex but there are many others) etc will all make a difference.

Perhaps doing a bit of research online especially for the watches will give you a better idea of what you've got and possible value.

Some second hand rare watches (especially Rolexes) are trading at huge premiums at the moment. So make sure you find out exactly what you have - you will ideally need all the papers, the watch box and original receipt too. If it is something rare I would sell through an approved dealer and part with a small commission. I wouldn’t send anything properly valuable through eBay.

Regarding the jewellery, do you have the original certificates etc as to colour/carat etc.
