I’ll start with something that really made me
smack my head hard.

Pufferfish inflate with water and not air

That the petrol pumps aren't actually filled with petrol. I thought the tankers came and filled them a few times a day.

My daughter used to be convinced when she was about 12 that a man sat in the ATM and handed out the cash.

amazed that you didn't get channel tunnel and pineapples not growing on trees though.

I still do not understand how you can not realise that 1st is from first. And if you don't know that it is from the word first, how do you remember if it is st or rd or th??

Was amazed in my 20s to discover that asparagus grows like this.

Not sure how I imagined it DID grow, but certainly not like some weird monstery fingers reaching up through the earth to grab unsuspecting gardeners.
